Taking care of the 100+ olive trees on our land turned out to be much more fun than expected. Lots of clean-up and landscaping, before step-by-step we learned the craft of producing our own olive oil ... guided by local old foxes 🦊 After four years and three harvests, we are now ready to sell our first batch of oil. A very limited amount. But one with special qualities. We like to say here that this isn't olive oil ... it's medicine. 100% natural organic farming, no pesticides used whatsoever, no plowing the fields. The trees are of a special resistant type and don't even require irrigation. The long summer period without rains makes the oil extra rich in nutrients and taste. Our oil is mostly from the Athenolia type, blended with wild acebuche olives which are super rich in polyphenols. You know, the stuff that makes you get a 100 years old. Yeah, no need for studies to know that spending time in nature is good for mental health, just some healthy self-awareness ;) It's hardly possible to get a sense of environmental sustainability when you lived all your life in the city.

Life Grove is NOW on NOSTR 🏕️ The idea for Life Grove was born during many Vipassana silent retreats: "What if I just put my comfy Berlin city apartment directly into nature and live in harmony with the environment around me?" Today's technology should make that possible. So, a journey began with the astounding realization that most Western countries discourage or don't even allow you to live in harmony with nature. You can go to nature, yes, but only as a tourist. That doesn't make sense to me. A few years later Life Grove became a reality in southern Greece. Just a house in between the olive trees with a little valley and the Sea in front of you, mountains in the back. Lots of silence and no street lights around. A place where you feel the elements at every moment, a place where you adjust to the weather, where you harmonize with the plants and animals around. Totally off-grid, yet not missing anything. After four summers and winters living full-time in our tiny house, we are now charged up, ready for next steps, and feel the urge to share that experience.
