Last year minted in 1916. 🇩🇪 The Weight was 5 g. 4,5 g was silver. 1 German Mark 4,5 g Silver = 0,24 $ at that time. In 1914 the first World War starts and in 1916 Germany takes out (the money) the silver of the 1 Mark and replace it with zink, nickel, iron and copper. To finance the Warmachinery and pay debt. Germany then lost the War in 1918, and started to print money Big time for debt etc. And in 1923. Seven years after the Silver Mark was devalued, that same coin (4,5 g Silver) World cost 1 Billion Mark. The inflation went totally out of control 💸 and poverty and hopelessness was everywhere The Price in 1916 was 0,24 $ for the silver 1 Mark.
